Thoughts and Impressions - Musical Fragaria Memories ~Dear My Friends!~ (Opening Night)

It's time to get my thoughts out!! I'll first start out with my initial impressions, and then i'll be going into things in more detail (read: spoilers!) Note that I'm writing this with the general assumption that the possible average reader has 0 knowledge regarding Fragaria Memories as a whole.

Now then, let's get started!!

Musical Fragaria Memories ~Dear My Friends!~

This was my personal first time watching a FraMyu right as it comes out, so I may be a bit overly excited here, lol. I personally only started catching up to Fragaria Memories as a series i wanna say late last year? I was slow to catch up because I personally wanted to watch with a friend in order for us to get caught up together to just yap with our larger friend group. I then binged like all of the current Lost Kitty arc and hurried with watching The Knot of Innocence and Promise of Love. All just in time for Dear My Friends!! Now that my crazy consumption cycle is out of the way, gonna head into my spoiler free dissection:

Starting with our main cast! Noir was an absolute delight to watch. I may possibly be like, Noir-Pilled tho but I swear they're top notch! Gonna go through each knight one by one. All other knights I feel like I can only really comment on them in the Spoilers section just cause of the content

Rose's Badobarm from Red Bouquet (1st myu) was already so much fun, I loved seeing how much Rose has grown acting-wise from Red up until now! He got that aniki energy down pat like for real. I can't wait to see how much more he evolves, especially with his comedy delivery. He had a great little bit in Red where he was making his introduction to Badtz maru sama and I just LOVe the voice he does for Tama/Eggbert. Honestly can't wait to see more of the two of them~
Nikaido is an absolute delight as Arupek! I had just recently re-watched his performance in AkuKuro as prep for NoirMyu with my friends and being able to see his range, I really can't wait to go back and check out more of his performances. As expected, his dialogue plays off so well with Chaco. That as well as the rest of Noir. I really look forward to once they start tackling the Lost Kitty arc on stage.
As for Seitarou, I know he's mainly an idol and I still haven't seen him in more than just this and Mashle 2.5, but I feel like he did very well! He had some very strong duets together with Aru throughout the whole show. Still floored at how much ChacoAru content they managed to deliver, like holy cow. We are Blessed.
Moving on to Tooru, his Pikero just blew me out of the water. Certainly not the first time we've seen him on stage, and I've already thoroughly enjoyed his character from the voice dramas, but Tooru really like... damn. idk how else to describe his song other than >TouSute Iden sensei trap construction disco. IYKYK. It was hot.
Yuga's Tuxam was also delivered well. We have seen him in Blue before, along-side Pikero even, but now with the power house triple manzai threat that is Hangyon, Pikero and Tuxam, I feel like they've reached peak. He had such great presence, that which totally matched his image as the greatest gentleman.
and then Mackey... Gosh I don't know why I was worried about how he'd deliver Hangyon, he blew it out of the park like of course he did. was there ever any doubt. Hangyon being my main reason for getting into Fragaria too (love you Hangyodon sama!!) I guess it was just really important for me, personally, to see a really good Hangyon. Like, yeah. No he's perfect. I'll get into a full like, Mackey dissection later as a Mackey enjoyer if anyone actually cares to read that lol.

When it comes to the extended cast, I'm so happy they manMd to get a majority of Red Bouquet in here. I really love seeing them all clown with one another, especially in the transition sequences (i'm new here so not sure if they have an appropriate name or not lol). Kinda wish that Andy was able to show up as well just to see him clown around some more (as well as shake his money-maker), but he's currently in HypSute making more cash (god bless). The choices we got for Blue Bouquet too is just perfect. Maybe I'm too biased there as well, but allowing for Kurode to interact with just Willmesh here, without the interference of a lurking Cielomort, was a sight for sore eyes. Especially after everything in Blue ahahahahahaaa :'D

SPOILER TIME

So I gotta start right with all the manzai so far. My god, I love these clowns. Mackey of course just being an expert in the craft, I don't know do I sound crazy to be glazing him this much? I really love to see when the energy and passion for a project is exuded from the cast. This was very much apparent here with Noir. They all have such a great flow with one another when it comes to their comedic timing and tsukkomi-boke back and forth. I don't want this to get boring and about what makes jokes funny, but man does it hit best when the performers go at it with such ease. The three of them, Hangyon + Pikero + Tuxam, really got the energy just right. Their interjections and physical comedy mixing together with the use of Red Bouquet as PROPs, my god. I need more of it right this minute. Excuse me, chef, your finest clowns on a platter, please! And make sure to pack the extras in my doggie bag!!

Ok now that the manzai glazing is done, let's move on to MORE AD-LIB TALK

I love how much physical comedy there is in FraMyu. I love that the actors are not afraid to fall on their ass on the drop of a hat if the moment needs it. From the "Let's get to Work Rimicha" to the absolute beast that is Kurode + Willmesh due presentation. My god, I'm never gonna be over that. It was like 3 am for me and I was struggling to not laugh out loud to disturb my family, or my cat, but it sure was a challenge!! I absolutely can't wait to see the last 2 streams for all this once again, I feel absolutely obsessed.

Music wise: I need this on a cd like yesterday. I'm gonna fight the production staff for that Pikero song like right this minute. I need it PUMPED INTO MY VEINS. ChacoAru likers out there, rejoice for they get like THREE WHOLE duets together, maybe even more if you count the lil reprise they get at the end during Bado's existential crisis. It's crazy how much the two of these boys just kissing solves so many problems. Everyone had a very fun song this time around, but it could also be cause I got a personal bias towards songs where everyone gets to have fun, from the main cast to the ensemble members. I feel like a lot of the nation songs here, you really do get the feeling of being Aru wandering from country to country and witness the wonders that there are to behold here in the Noir Continent. Tama got a whole line too in one of Bado's songs!! We love aniki!!!!

Gotta give a shout out to all the props this stage. I rewatch Noir Chapter like maybe too many times, so I was admittedly very disappointed when they cut out the whole Rule Book battle Tuxam v Aru, but I guess they did increase the amount of ChacoAru content, so I can forgive them this once. Still so funny how the only issue in Tuxedo Sam's kingdom is just too many rules. No time for SEEDS like for real... The tower of rule books, I loved them. Sorta wish they did another rolling trolly with them on or something, but having that prop tip over to crush Tuxam was really good imagery.
Can I now talk about the Lily puppet? Cause holy shit the Lily puppet. She had like 2 support arms in her back tentacles for Mackey to easily maneuver her around the stage, but I also really gotta wonder like how heavy she is. The detail on her hair and face makes it look like she's at least crafted out of like maybe a TPU or perhaps a plaster? If paper mache, I guess she could also be pretty light, but not sure too how much work it took to get her looking so smooth looking. Her arms and face were just so cute,,, I hope that they'll bring her back too with future stages. I'm just absolutely obsessed!
